Wild Village Weekly Nature Sessions
Welcome to our new home.
Wild Village Nature Sessions are gentle, land-based gatherings for home-educating families who want their children to grow up connected — to soil, seasons, and community. This group is for all ages to attend but crafts and activities may be more suited to 8 and under.
Where
We’re based at A Patch Wilder in Shipham, a beautiful pocket of land nestled into the Mendips, with parking on site and Lilypool café at the bottom for pre-session lunch or a coffee run. Please do not park in the Lilypool Cafe carpark, parking is available up the track to the right of the cafe carpark. Follow the track half way up and parking is situated on the right hand side. A toilet block is available next to the parking. We will meet at 1pm but there’s no pressure to stay for the entire session.
When
Thursdays 1-4pm
Booking must be made in advance of the session
£10 ticket is for 1 adult and up to 2 kids.
Our sessions are rooted in:
• messy play
• seasonal crafting
• planting and tending vegetables
• nature walks
• open-ended free play
• tea around the fire pit
We’ll be based in the barn, with messy play and craft materials available for children to access freely. There will be optional seasonal activities guided by an adult — planting seeds, nature-based crafts, simple land skills — but participation is always by invitation, never pressure.
The emphasis is on child-led play.
Children are trusted to follow their curiosity.
Adults are invited to slow down alongside them.
This isn’t a structured class.
It’s a rhythm.
It’s muddy boots and rosy cheeks.
It’s conversations between mums who don’t need to explain why they chose this path.
It’s children climbing, digging, creating, wandering, returning.
It’s space.
We believe children don’t need constant instruction — they need land, time, and safety.
And we believe mothers deserve spaces where their nervous systems can soften too.
So bring layers.
Bring wellies.
Bring your whole self.
We’ll bring the tea, the fire, and the beginnings of something beautiful.
