Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Wild Village Project?

The Wild Village Project curates inspiring, creative, and nature-led workshops and experiences for home educating families across Somerset and Bristol. We partner with local businesses to offer hands-on, real-world learning opportunities — the kind that don’t come from a textbook.

How does booking an event work?

1. Browse our calendar:

You’ll find all upcoming workshops and experiences on our Events page or via the calendar view.

2. Select your event:

Each listing includes full event info, age guidelines (if any), location, and what’s included. Some events have a hands-on element, others may be observational or all-ages friendly.

3. Purchase your tickets:

Tickets are sold through our book now page. Payment secures your space — and spaces are often limited, so we recommend booking early.

4. Check your email:

You’ll receive a confirmation straight away, and a follow-up email with full details (location pin, parking, what to bring, etc.) before the event.

5. Turn up, connect, and enjoy:

Your ticket includes access for the child taking part and their parent/guardian. Observing siblings are welcome unless otherwise stated.

Do parents stay for the event?

Yes — parents/guardians remain responsible for their children at all times. These are shared experiences, not drop-off sessions. In most cases, parents are encouraged to observe, participate, or simply soak in the moment.

Are younger/older siblings allowed?

Unless stated otherwise, most of our events are designed to be inclusive of mixed ages. If a younger child is simply observing or tagging along, they typically don’t need a ticket — but please use your discretion, and let us know at checkout if you’re bringing additional children.

I’ve booked but can’t attend — what happens?

Please let us know as soon as possible. While we can’t always offer refunds, we’ll try to transfer your ticket to a future event where we can, or help you pass it on to another family.

I’m looking for something bespoke — can you help?

Yes! We offer private sessions and small group bookings too. If you’re a co-op, group, or family looking for something tailored, email us and we’ll see what’s possible
